I've been paddled just like that many times and with that exact clear paddle. Its nothing to play with. The corner as well has been a common place after the paddlings.

In the scene, the paddle looks like clear plastic — maybe acrylic. If you’ve used or felt one like that in real life: How painful is it, really? Can the top control it so it hurts a lot, but doesn’t leave marks? How hard do you think she was hitting? Like 70% strength? 90%? Also — have you ever felt something like that in a scene? Burning pain? Shaking? Maybe even subspace?
